Recorded winter 2009

The final EP of this era of Fünf, the group finds another way to mix up the matrix-style process. Initially called the "duos round," each of the 5 pieces were developed in three steps. In the first and second steps, pairs of members would work together together in the studio -- a Fünf first! -- while the remaining fifth member would add their parts and button it up in the end. So a track might unfold as:

Joe/ Marco --> Chris/ Nick --> Chuck
or
Chris/ Chuck --> Marc/ Joe --> Nick

Musically, the pieces almost sound as if things are pulling apart. Ideas and motifs are stretched to their breaking point. At times the record sounds as if it is melting right on the turntable.

More Fünf is in discussion for the future. Until then, enjoy...
